“We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community... Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.” - Cesar Chavez

Sunday's Super Simple Solution: Children's books make great Starbuck's tumblers

I love the Starbuck's "make your own" tumblers, and I am always looking for new ways to use them. I have given them as graduate presents with personal photos. I have made collages of family pictures. And, I have used colorful scrapbook paper. Recently, I found one of my daughter's books that had beautiful illustrations but several pages were missing. I used one of the remaining pages to create this whimsical tumbler!

"If someone told you about a fabulous mutual fund you could invest in, and said that it might or might not give you any interest and that there was a 50 percent chance you could lose your whole investment, you know for a fact that you would decline the offer. So why are women rushing towards marriage with the same purposeful abandon as kamikaze pilots in World War II?" - Mama Gena (on why women need to re-evaluate the traditional roles in marriage)

March is National Women's History Month, so I have decided to post my favorite quotes about being a woman. I hope that you will see the humor in many of these quotes. Humor is necessary to deal with some of the intense issues that surround feminism and gender equity.
